An Introduction to the Center for Regenerative Medicine Biotrust

The Center for Regenerative Medicine Biotrust was established to facilitate the translation of regenerative-based therapies to Mayo Clinic patients. This has been accomplished by assisting Mayo Clinic physicians and scientists with services including: study design, sample acquisition and processing, stem cell isolation (mesenchymal stem cells) or creation (induced pluripotent cells(iPS)), sample validation, directed differentiation and distribution of regenerative-related biomaterials amongst Mayo Clinic investigators and their collaborators.  The CRM Biotrust occupies a 1700 sq. foot laboratory and hosts over 220 iPS cell lines from unaffected and diseased patients.  By developing these services, the Center for Regenerative Medicine aims to simplify the process by which samples are acquired, shared and distributed in a cost-effective and timely manner.
